|Frank and Clara (Hemmelgarn) Sahli 50th Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. Sahli celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sept. 10, 1972 with a mass of thanksgiving at St. Henry's Catholic church where they were married 50 years ago, Father Landsberger officiating. Bill Hemmelgarn was lector and Jeanne Moritz sang the Ave Maria. A family dinner for 65 was served at the Colonial Motel at noon followed by a reception at St. Henry's in the afternoon hosted by their children. Carol Huntington was at the guest book, Jeanne and Paulette Sahli were in charge of the cards and gifts.
Serving punch were Ann and Esther Sahli and Lena Fischer. Coffee was served by Letty Schmidt, Louise Jensen and Helen Jung. Serving cake were Clara Hemmelgarn, Emma Hemmelgarn, Gladys Hummel and Julie Kelvie. Attending from out of town were: Robert and Mary Sahli and family of So. St. Paul, Bill and Mary Woods and family of Inver Grove Heights, James and Verlyn Sahli and Paulette of Renton, Washington, Lee and Emma Hemmelgarn and Mrs. O.W. Nelson from Waubun, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Glatt, Mrs. Ben Hulm, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hulm all of Hague, North Dakota, Ben Glatt of Bismarck, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hummel, Mr. and Mrs. Don Kelvie and Mr. and Mrs. K.E. Fischer, all of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Sahli of Menasha, Wisconsin and Mr. and Mrs. John Sahli of Neenah, Wisconsin, Mrs. Katherine Rieder, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Rieder and Isabelle Moore all of Walker, Linda Van Meter and John Gatzlaff of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Wittmer, Moorehead, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Moritz, Fargo and Richard Sahli, USN of San Diego, Calif.
Hosts at the reception were Bill and Mary Hemmelgarn and Art and Kathryn Hemmelgarn. An informal dinner was served Saturday evening for all out of town guests at the Lake Wilke. K.E. Fischer entertained with accordian music at the Saturday dinner and also at the family dinner Sunday.
