|From South Russia to the Dakotas|
|In October, 1900, Joseph and Magdalena Sahli and their three children Katherine, Elizabeth and Frank along with Joseph's father Ignatz left Kleinliebental, Russia in the Ukraine for a new life in the United States. From Odessa, Russia they boarded a train and traveled to Bremen, Germany, where ship travel arrangements were made on the Kaiser Wilhelm Der Grosse. (click for ship description)|
